Betson began her National Institutes of Health (NIH) career in 1991 in the NIH Police Branch, Office of Research Services. During her tenure at NIDCR, she served in a variety of roles providing support across the Institute. Previously, she served as a principal administrative officer in the Office of the Director at the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR). Betson came to NCCIH in 2014 as the deputy executive officer with responsibility for overseeing the management analysis and human resources functions. In this role, she serves as the principal advisor to the director, the deputy director, and the Center’s senior staff and provides leadership and direction for the Center’s administrative activities including financial management, human resource management, management analysis, workforce development, information technology, acquisitions, and administrative support.
